Samara Grant, LPC/MHSP

Hi, I’m Samara Grant, LPC/MHSP, founder of Helping Hands Counseling. I grew up in a small East Tennessee town where mental health care was often difficult to access, and conversations around emotional well-being weren’t always readily available. Those roots deeply shaped the way I see people and the work I do today. I witnessed firsthand how pain, trauma, and life struggles can quietly impact individuals and families, often without enough support or resources. That experience helped cultivate a passion for creating spaces where people feel seen, heard, and cared for.

For nearly a decade, I’ve worked with individuals and families impacted by complex trauma through various roles including in-home family counseling, case management, foster parent training, and clinical therapy. My work is informed by training in EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed approaches, and nervous system-focused care, with a belief that healing often involves more than insight alone. I strive to create a warm, collaborative space where clients can better understand their experiences, reconnect with themselves, and move toward healing in a way that feels meaningful and sustainable.

At Helping Hands Counseling, I believe healing doesn’t happen by forcing growth—it happens when we create the right conditions for it to take root.
