A Little Bit About Me
In my small East Tennessee hometown, most things were up for discussion—except the hard truths about trauma. From an early age, I was deeply curious about human behavior—why we think, feel, and act the way we do. Yet for much of my life, I believed the trauma I carried was simply part of a “normal” upbringing. Even in the moments when I sensed something wasn’t right, it was hard to name it—because no one around me was talking about it.
Eventually, I learned that the parts of us we tend to bury are often the key to healing. When we take the risk to explore those deeper layers, we develop greater self-understanding and compassion for both ourselves and others in our lives. Trauma has a way of making itself our identity, but you get to decide who you are without the weight of your experiences.
With nearly a decade of experience working with complex trauma, I’ve had the opportunity to serve individuals and families in a wide range of settings—from in-home family counseling and foster parent training to case management and clinical therapy with children, adults, and couples. These experiences have shaped my understanding of how trauma shows up across the lifespan, and how healing looks different for everyone.
Today, my work is grounded in evidence-based, integrative approaches like EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and trauma-informed care. I strive to create a space that feels safe, collaborative, and deeply respectful of your story. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, grief, life transitions, or the lingering effects of trauma, my goal is to walk alongside you with compassion as you move toward greater clarity, connection, and wholeness.
“Anything that is “wrong” with you began as a survival mechanism in childhood.”
